We made a podcast.
It’s called Dot the Trees, a crop insurance podcast for specialty crop growers and the people who serve them. It exists for a simple reason. Crop insurance shapes the future of every orchard, vineyard, and field we work with, and almost nobody talks about it in plain language. The best conversations in this industry happen in hallways at conferences and on tailgates after field visits. We decided to start putting them on the record.
Dot the Trees is hosted by Josh Benson, our Head of Agent Relations. Josh has spent years talking with agents, adjusters, and growers across the country, and he asks the questions the rest of us are thinking. Expect real talk for growers and the people who serve them. No jargon, no sales pitch, no fluff.
Episode 1: technology in crop insurance
For the first episode, recorded between Texas and Washington, Josh sits down with our CEO and co-founder, Andrew Burdock. Before starting Insure.ag, Andrew spent more than a decade in agritech, including co-founding Aerobotics, so this is home turf for him.
They talk about where crop insurance technology actually stands today, what satellite and aerial imagery change for a grower’s policy, where AI genuinely helps and where the hype out runs the reality, and what’s coming next for how specialty crops get insured.
A crop insurance podcast for growers and agents
If you grow specialty crops, work with growers, or write policies for them, this show is for you. Future episodes will bring in agents, adjusters, claims supervisors, policy minds, and growers themselves.
Where to listen
Dot the Trees is live now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube, with new episodes on the way.
